But it is the chance to get so close to nature that is most memorable about Banff. Where else can you do snow shoeing walks through canyons and see wolf tracks? Sunshine Mountain Lodge ****
This ski-in, ski-out lodge is an excellent choice for school groups, located in Sunshine Village Resort, Banff National Park. It is 20 minutes’ west of Banff city centre. It features multiple restaurants, and outdoor hot pool, ski storage and spa services.
Each room at the Sunshine Mountain Lodge feature a 42-inch flat-screen HDTV and wood furniture. Each bathroom has slate floors and granite counter tops with hairdryers. Windows open for fresh air.
Guests can work out in the on-site gym or relax in the dry sauna. The lodge also schedules movie nights, snowshoe tours and tobogganing adventures.
Banff Upper Hot Springs are 25 minutes’ drive away from Sunshine Mountain Lodge.

Featuring a hot tub, steamroom, and sauna, this Banff hotel is located just 11.8 miles from Sunshine Village Ski Resort. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant and bar. Free WiFi and a cable TV are provided in every guest room.
Air-conditioned rooms at The Banff Inn include a telephone and an alarm clock. Featuring a bath or shower, private bathrooms also come with a hairdryer.
Carlito’s Pizzeria is open for dinner and serves a variety of pizzas. The restaurant also offers hamburgers, salads and more – an excellent and convenient choice for school groups.
The front desk is available 24 hours a day at The Banff Inn. Other facilities offered include luggage storage, ski storage and a vending machine.
