Kitzbühel School Ski Trips
One of the most famous resorts in Austria
The Resort:
With its combination of Austrian charm and state-of-the-art facilities, it is no surprise that Kitzbuhel is consistently ranked as one of the best ski resorts in Europe and across the world. The town itself is located in the Tyrol region of Austria and has a traditional but stunning architecture that allows for picturesque views all year round. This is on top of the lifts, pistes, and snowmaking facilities that are all of the highest quality.
Skiing in Kitzbuhel:
The resort is situated at the bottom of the Hahnenkamm mountain which offers an exceptional range of piste trails for all abilities including long sloping valley runs. The mountain is also home to the annual World Cup downhill race in January, and the slope allows for speeds up to 140km/h. It has a downhill section of 3312m and its steepest gradient is 85% making it a thrilling experience for those willing t take it on. The Steinbergkogel side of the mountain has more challenging black runs and acres to explore in off-piste opportunities. Beginners are also catered for brilliantly, with dedicated learning areas on Pass Thurn and the Fleckalmbahn Gondola. There is also the opportunity to take part in a ski safari which is a scenic trail from the Hahnenkamm that zigzags across the mountains towards Pass Thurn. The resort’s superb trails, top-class lifts, and brilliant terrain parks make skiing at Kitzbuhel a true delight.
For Schools Because:
Although the resort is well known across the skiing community and has brilliant facilities, the slopes are surprisingly uncrowded which allows students to develop quickly enabling them to move on to some of the more advanced runs that the resort has to offer. Its location is also beneficial, with the cities of Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Munich all around two hours away making travel and accessibility to this world-class resort relatively easy. Additionally, the resort centre is traffic free adding a layer of safety to the resort that makes it ideal for a school ski trip.
Après Ski:
The town of Kitzbuhel is well known for its brilliant shopping with a wide range of internationally known designer shops alongside chic but traditional clothing shops. The array of restaurants is also exceptional, whilst the cities of Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Munich are all located around two hours away which provides a great opportunity for day trips.
