The Resort:

Pamporovo is located in the Smolyan Province of Bulgaria and the skiing here takes place on the slopes of the Rhodopi Mountains. The resort is one of Europe’s most southerly ski areas which helps it to combine reliable snow coverage and sunshine throughout winter.

Skiing in Pamporovo:

Pamporovo is an ideal place for beginners and intermediates to find their feet and progress their skills due to its numerous blue and red pistes. A new 3.7km ski run was recently opened that is serviced by a 6-chair open ski lift. The lift system has also been updated creating a lack of queues. Further developments include a new Snowpark and expansion into the Stroikite area that has added a further 2 harder blue pistes. The snowmaking system has over 80 snow canons covering around 90% of the slopes. This means that there is good quality snow available even with the high number of sunshine hours. Lots of the runs available are surrounded by pine forests providing spectacular scenery all the way down to the base. For more advanced skiers there is a black run called The Wall as well as a giant slalom to tackle. The resort caters well to all abilities but is ideal for large groups with varied abilities who want to progress and advance whilst skiing quality slopes.

For Schools Because:

There are over 100 ski instructors at Pamporovo and over 10 ski schools with instructors that speak a range of languages, making beginner skiers feel at home and helping them learn and develop in no time at all. With multiple rental shops and a base area access point, the resort has many features that make it perfect for a group trip of varying abilities.

Après Ski:

Slope-side snack bars and restaurants are not hard to come by here with plenty of opportunities for a food and drink break. Floodlit night skiing is also available on certain nights which is a great evening activity for all to enjoy. During the day snow tubing and snowmobile excursions are available whilst ten-pin bowling and ice skating can provide a fun afternoon in the town itself.
