Mont Saint Anne School Ski Trips
Great for Beginners & Doorstep Skiing
The resort:
Based in the Laurentian mountains, Mont St. Anne is close to Quebec City and is famous for hosting many international competitions in Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding. It also has the largest cross-country ski centre in Canada making it a vast area.
Skiing in Mont St. Anne:
As a previous World Cup venue there are a number of challenging double black diamond runs that will test the advanced skiers amongst you. For the intermediate level, there are over 50 other trails spanning an enormous 450-acre area. The ski school and easier slopes will allow new or less confident skiers to develop their skills and abilities before moving onto some gently sloping tree-lined green and blue runs. The St Lawrence ski passes that are available can access both the Mont St. Anne trials as well as Le Massif trails for those wanting to explore even further. A huge attraction of the resort is the largest night skiing vertical in Canada – with 17 separate floodlit slopes opening 4 days a week during the evenings. This truly is an event not to miss. For the snowboarders, there are 3 separate Snow parks spread across the mountains as well as trails between them.
For Schools Because:
With gentle slopes to black diamond runs the resort caters well for mixed ability groups, like school trips. It also has 340 acres of snowmaking coverage, along with high natural snowfall creating excellent conditions all season round which is also beneficial for school groups who are there for a limited amount of time and want to maximise time on the slopes. Additionally, there is a ski rental and repair service station, meaning any damages can be fixed quickly, and students can be back on the slopes in no time.
Après ski:
A particular benefit of Mont St. Anne is the 8 heated shelters dotted across the resort that provide a well-earned break throughout the day. There is also a slope-side restaurant and even a café lounge that is open for food and refreshments during night skiing. A Canadian specialty is Maple Taffy – maple syrup hardened and turned into sweet, so make sure to take a mid-mountain break at one of the sugar shacks that serve up this specialty. Other snow activities are also available here including dogsled and sleigh rides, cross country skiing, and ice fishing in huts.
