Vallnord School Ski Trips
Idyllic Village Setting
The Resort:
Vallnord is a friendly and down-to-earth resort village located in the Northwest of Andorra. It is the second largest resort in the country and is known for having the best snowfall record in the area. Its 70km of piste includes lots of pretty treelined slopes that look out across the Pyrenees mountains.
Skiing in Vallnord:
The resort is split into two main areas linked by cable car – Pal and Vallnord. The uppermost slopes on Pic Alt de la Capa offer short red runs and rapid black runs, as well as the expertly maintained Snowpark, whilst lower down there is a focus on long blue pistes. The Pal sector of the resort has greater variety including gentle green runs and mogul fields. Room for progression is key here with excellent nursery slopes set high up the mountain. The whole resort is set in a large bowl which creates lots of wide confidence-boosting runs. All the runs lead back to the main station making for good accessibility for meeting points such as the restaurant which overlooks the slopes. With great off-piste potential, a designated slalom area, and a freestyle area, the resort has a variety of options on where to spend your time on the slopes.
For Schools because:
A huge benefit of Vallnord is the highly regarded English-speaking ski school (one of the first European ski schools to be BASI approved) which helps students learn to master the slopes quickly as the language barrier is removed. Fast and up-to-date ski lifts as well as snow cannon coverage of 62% add to the resort’s benefits.
Après ski:
Other snow activities are available at the resort including ski biking, snowmobiling, orienteering, and snowshoeing. The town has many international-themed restaurants such as the Argentinian steak house and the Mexican restaurant, providing multiple dining options. These restaurants are also often the location of quiz nights for a fun evening activity. Taxis and public transport are available to take you into the capital – Andorra La Vella, where there is extensive shopping, with all products at duty-free prices, as well as Europe’s largest thermal spa.
